'Teton Child

$3,200.00
Sold Out

The Snake River is an ancestral beast. Tens of thousands of years old, it has carved its way westward from the youngest mountain range in North America, the Tetons. We wind with it. The fiberglass hull of the drift boat crunches as we anchor on a small sand bar. The Tetons loom high above. A lazy cow moose slowly picks its way through the brush on the opposite bank. It is a special thing to be able to float through a National Park. Other river I’ve floated have private riverbanks, large houses, and trash filled eddies; not here though. A hundred miles of pristine river is ours for the taking. Below the sandbar, a black depth looms. Trophy Cutthroat are common here. Free of the invasive species, these 25” specimens are predatory. Taking the occasional dry, they mostly focus on meat. I tie on a peanut envy and sink a cast into the pool. A tug, then the reel starts to sing. TIMES: All pieces are made to order, and lead times average about 2 months. If this is a gift or needed by a certain date, make sure to plan a few months ahead.
