Arctic Grayling with Iron Stand

from $2,200.00

The Arctic Grayling, or Thymallus Arcticus, is a member of the same genus as the whitefishes. Native to the northern reaches of North America, these often small but beautiful fish are a pleasure to catch. As insectivores they readily take nymphs, dries, and eggs, with large schools following the salmon runs upstream. During one of my trips to Alaska we caught hundreds of Grayling. Usually blueish gray in color, what captured my attention were the sexually mature males. I have tried to emulate the vibrant oranges, blues, and reds that I saw on the wild fish in my work.
